The week-of-October-12 picture, current as of October 12

Archived: this roundup was published October 12 and is kept for reference. The week-of-October-19 edition, current as of October 14, is the one to plan from; it is linked under Useful links below. This is the week-of-October-12 edition of the Treasure Valley events roundup, refreshed as of October 12, 2026. Treat it as a snapshot, not a promise: farmers market seasons and festival dates shift every year, some events sell out or end early, and every detail below should be confirmed with the organizer or venue before you drive. Anything that already wrapped in September or the first week of October is noted as past rather than listed as upcoming.

The short version: CBH opens its newest Caldwell community, Wagers Acres, on Thursday, October 15, Viva Nampa fills Lloyd Square on Friday, October 16, the Mountain Home Highland Games run a full weekend on October 17 and 18, the farmers market season is down to its final Saturdays, and the Halloween calendar fills in fast with trunk-or-treats, Boo at the Zoo, and CBH's On the Block open houses every Saturday.

Already wrapped: events that have passed

A few events from the season's first half have already come and gone, so they are archived here instead of listed as upcoming. CBH's Homefest promotion ended Sunday, October 11, and the On the Block open houses that weekend were the last under that offer. Eagle's Harvest Fest filled Heritage Park on Saturday, October 10, Caldwell's Dogtoberfest brought the Running of the Wieners to Indian Creek Plaza on October 9, Kuna's Moonlight Movie screened at Bernie Fisher Park that same night, and the City of Trees Marathon ran through Boise on October 11.

Earlier in the season, Meridian's Oktoberfest and Caldwell's Hay Day both landed Saturday, October 3, and Middleton's Harvest Festival closed out September at Foote Park. Caldwell's Farm to Fork market ended its season September 29 at Indian Creek Plaza, and Eagle's Saturday Market at Heritage Park wrapped September 26. Each of these returns on next year's calendar, and the rest of this roundup stays pointed at what is actually next.

Farmers markets: the final Saturdays

Boise still runs both Saturday markets. The Capital City Public Market at The Grove Plaza downtown runs Saturdays through December 19, from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM, switching to 10 AM to 2 PM after October 25. The Boise Farmers Market at 1500 Shoreline Drive holds its final outdoor Saturday on October 31, then moves indoors for a winter market at the Idaho Botanical Garden.

Closer to the new communities, Meridian's Main Street Market at City Hall Plaza has its final Saturday of the season on October 17, and the Nampa Farmers Market at Lloyd Square Park in historic downtown Nampa keeps its Saturday run going through November. Eagle's Saturday Market and Caldwell's Farm to Fork market have both closed for the year. Hours and final dates move every season, so confirm before you drive.

Festivals and community gatherings: October 12 through 25

The week kicks off with CBH's grand opening for Wagers Acres in Caldwell on Thursday, October 15, from noon to 1 PM, followed by the 2nd annual Viva Nampa Festival on Friday, October 16, from 6 to 10 PM at Lloyd Square Park. Viva Nampa is a free, family-friendly street festival celebrating Latino and Hispanic heritage, with local vendors, live music, folklórico performances, an artisan market, and food, produced with the 208 Night Market.

Saturday, October 17 is the month's busiest day. The Mountain Home Highland Games run October 17 and 18 at Carl Miller Park, the Fall Festival at The WaterShed on Boise's river campus runs 10 AM to 2 PM with pumpkin decorating and a scavenger hunt, the Idaho Horror 48-Hour Film Festival screens at the Egyptian Theatre at 4 PM, and the Old Idaho Penitentiary opens for behind-the-scenes evening tours.

The big Halloween weekend is October 24 and 25. Boo at the Zoo at Zoo Boise runs both days from 10 AM to 5 PM with last admission at 4 PM, Eagle lights up its City Hall campus with the Night of a Thousand Pumpkins on October 24, and the Idaho Botanical Garden's Scarecrow Stroll continues through November 2 with fall harvest days every Saturday.

Trunk-or-treat and Halloween nights, city by city

Halloween events start before Halloween this year. Caldwell's Trunk or Treat with Track Shark is at Indian Creek Plaza on Saturday, October 17, from 5 to 7 PM, and Meridian's citywide trunk-or-treat runs Thursday, October 22, from 6 to 9 PM at City Hall Plaza, with a suggested $1 per child donation to the Meridian Food Bank. Jerome's 208's Halloween Party is October 23 at 220 W Main Street, and Kuna's Chamber of Commerce trunk-or-treat runs Saturday, October 24, on the baseball diamond at Bernie Fisher Park.

On Halloween itself, Star's trunk-or-treat runs at Riverhouse Pasture on South Main Street with decorated trunks, a costume contest, bounce houses, and food trucks, and Middleton's trick-or-treating hours run 5 to 8 PM, with downtown Middleton's daytime trick-or-treating on Friday, October 30. Caldwell closes the month with its Spooktacular Trail Challenge on October 31. New Plymouth lists a community trunk-or-treat for the season, so check the chamber and city calendars for the date nearest your visit, and the same goes for Horseshoe Bend.

Concerts and shows through the month

At the Morrison Center in Boise, Bluey's Big Play runs October 14 and 15, Chelsea Handler brings The High and Mighty Tour on October 16, and the Broadway tour of & Juliet opens October 20. At the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa, the AMA EnduroCross Championship makes its Round 2 stop on Saturday, October 17, with the show at 7 PM and doors at 5:30 PM.

At Knitting Factory Boise, the month brings Ashley Cooke on October 16, Almost Monday on October 17, The Taylor Party on October 24, Catch Your Breath on October 25, and Rival Sons on October 30. Revolution Concert House in Garden City has Charles Wesley Godwin on October 17, the Taste of Chaos tour on October 21 with Hollywood Undead, In This Moment, and I See Stars, Skillet on October 26, and Pouya on October 31. Venue calendars fill in week by week, so check the venue nearest the area you are shopping.

What CBH has going on, and who is on your side

CBH's On the Block open-house program continues every Saturday from 1 to 4 PM with free food trucks and tours of furnished models; the weekly lineup is posted on cbhhomes.com/on-the-block/. This Saturday, October 17, On the Block is at Linrock in Meridian, and the builder's newest community, Wagers Acres in Caldwell, celebrates its grand opening Thursday, October 15, from noon to 1 PM. The builder's Our Town exhibit also runs at Lowe Family Farmstead in Kuna through October 30, a family stop that pairs naturally with a model tour.

Homefest, billed as Idaho's biggest homebuying event of the year, wrapped October 11, and the fall offer still stacks up to $30,000 'Your Way' plus appliances on qualifying contracts. For the calendar ahead, CBH's Festival of Homes page says 'see you again in 2026,' and no 2026 dates are published yet, so watch the builder's site for the lineup.

None of that changes who is on your side. The builder's sales team runs those events, and they work for the builder. I am an independent buyer's agent and a Principal Broker (Oregon) / Associate Broker (Idaho) at MORE Realty; I represent buyers at every CBH community, and in most cases the builder pays my commission. I am not employed by or affiliated with CBH Homes. If you are coming out for an event, call me at (208) 369-7447 before your first model visit so you are registered as a represented buyer, and I will help you plan the weekend around tours of the communities on your list.
