New Construction in Eagle and Star, Idaho: River Towns Northwest of Boise
Eagle brings the river and established sophistication; Star brings the rural pace and room to grow. Together they bracket the northwest valley for new-home buyers.

Two towns, one river
Head northwest out of Boise and the road splits toward two different characters. Eagle is the valley's upscale river town, home to polished streets, a Boise River run that curves through the south side of town, and roughly 15 to 25 minute mile commute downtown. Star, a little farther out, was an 1860s farm stop that is now one of Idaho's fastest-growing places, pulling buyers who want larger lots and quieter roads for less money.
Eagle: riverfront and established
Eagle has a mature, treed riverscape that most new neighborhoods cannot copy, and the Boise River plus Eagle Island State Park give it a paddling, fishing, and walking culture. It is also the brand name among Treasure Valley suburbs, with homes that skew luxury and new communities that lean estate.
Star: the growing northwest
Star is the frontier of the new-construction market in this part of the valley, recording one of the fastest growth rates in Idaho as Boise, Eagle, and Napa families trade distance for acreage. Its downtown is a handful of old buildings and a great pizzeria; the draw is price, lot size, and quiet of the farm edges while staying within a half hour of Boise.
Schools and commute
Both towns fall largely within West Ada schools, with Eagle High among the district's most decorated. Star's growth has come with new schools planned to keep pace. Commutes land at about 15 to 25 minutes from Eagle to downtown Boise and about 30 from Star; work anywhere in the valley treats these as short runs.
CBH communities in Eagle and Star
In Eagle, CBH builds in established river area neighborhoods such as Beaconwood and Fountain Park. In Star the lineup includes Canvasback, Stargazer, and Trapper Ridge, with Trapper currently among the selling names. Coming-soon lots surface regularly in both towns, which is where a registered buyer's agent earns their keep: knowing what is left, when phases release, and which lots carry the view.
