The late-October picture, current as of October 7
Archived: this roundup was published October 7 and is kept for reference. The week-of-October-12 edition, current as of October 12, is the one to plan from; it is linked under Useful links below. This is the late-October edition of the Treasure Valley events roundup, refreshed as of October 7, 2026. Treat it as a snapshot, not a promise: farmers market seasons and festival dates shift every year, some events sell out or end early, and every detail below should be confirmed with the organizer or venue before you drive. Anything that already wrapped in September or the first week of October is noted as past rather than listed as upcoming.
The short version: Boo at the Zoo lands October 24 and 25, Viva Nampa fills Lloyd Square on October 16, the Mountain Home Highland Games run October 17 and 18, trunk-or-treat nights spread across the valley from October 17 through Halloween, the farmers market season is down to its final Saturdays, and CBH's On the Block open houses continue every Saturday with Homefest wrapping up on October 11.
Already wrapped: the events that have passed
A few events from earlier in the season have already come and gone, so they are archived here instead of listed as upcoming. Meridian's Oktoberfest and Caldwell's Hay Day both landed Saturday, October 3, and Middleton's Harvest Festival closed out September at Foote Park. Caldwell's Farm to Fork market ended its season September 29 at Indian Creek Plaza, and the Boise Farmers Market at 1500 Shoreline Drive is in its final Saturdays of the season, so go soon if you want the full summer lineup. Eagle's Saturday Market at Heritage Park is also down to its last dates. Each of these returns on next year's calendar, and the rest of this roundup stays pointed at what is actually next.
Farmers markets: the final Saturdays
Boise still runs both Saturday markets. The Capital City Public Market at The Grove Plaza downtown runs Saturdays through December 20, from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM, switching to 10 AM to 2 PM after October 25. The Boise Farmers Market at 1500 Shoreline Drive keeps its Saturday run going while its season lasts, so check its site for the final date.
Closer to the new communities, Meridian's Main Street Market runs Saturdays at City Hall with its final dates on October 10 and 17, and the Nampa Farmers Market at Lloyd Square Park in historic downtown Nampa holds on through late October, Saturdays from 9 AM to 1 PM. Eagle's Saturday Market at Heritage Park is in its final Saturdays, and Caldwell's Farm to Fork market has closed for the season. Hours and final dates move every year, so confirm before you drive.
Festivals and community gatherings: October 10-25
The weekend of October 9 through 11 is packed. Caldwell's Dogtoberfest brings a dog-friendly Oktoberfest to Indian Creek Plaza on Friday, October 9, including the Running of the Wieners dachshund race, and Kuna's free Moonlight Movie at Bernie Fisher Park screens The Nightmare Before Christmas that same night from 7 to 9 PM. On Saturday, October 10, Eagle hosts Harvest Fest at Heritage Park from 10 AM to 4 PM with free pumpkin decorating, kids' crafts, food vendors, and live music. Back in Boise, the City of Trees Marathon races through the city on Sunday, October 11, capping an event weekend that started October 3.
Mid-month, Nampa's Viva Nampa Festival fills Lloyd Square on October 16 with folklórico performances, vendors, and the 208 Night Market celebrating Latino and Hispanic heritage. The Mountain Home Highland Games run October 17 and 18 at Carl Miller Park, and Boise's Idaho Horror 48-Hour Film Festival screens at the Egyptian Theatre on October 17.
The big Halloween weekend is October 24 and 25. Boo at the Zoo at Zoo Boise runs both days from 10 AM to 5 PM with last admission at 4 PM, Eagle lights up its City Hall campus with the Night of a Thousand Pumpkins on October 24, and the Idaho Botanical Garden's Scarecrow Stroll continues through November 2 with fall harvest days every Saturday.
Trunk-or-treat and Halloween nights, city by city
Halloween events start before Halloween this year. Caldwell's Trunk or Treat with Track Shark is at Indian Creek Plaza on October 17, Meridian's trunk-or-treat lands October 22, and Jerome's 208's Halloween Party is October 23 at 220 W Main Street. Kuna's Chamber of Commerce trunk-or-treat runs Saturday, October 24, from 3 to 7 PM on the baseball diamond at Bernie Fisher Park.
On Halloween itself, Star's trunk-or-treat runs 3 to 5 PM at Riverhouse Pasture on South Main Street with decorated trunks, a costume contest, bounce houses, and food trucks, and Middleton's trick-or-treating hours run 5 to 8 PM, with downtown Middleton's daytime trick-or-treating on Friday, October 30. Caldwell closes the month with its Spooktacular Trail Challenge on October 31. For New Plymouth and Horseshoe Bend, the chamber and city calendars post their fall events week by week, so check those pages for the dates nearest your visit.
Concerts and shows through the month
The Ford Idaho Center in Nampa has Jon Pardi with Alexandra Kay on Saturday, October 10, following Matt Rife's Stay Golden tour stop on October 9. At the Morrison Center in Boise, Bluey's Big Play runs October 14 and 15, Chelsea Handler brings The High and Mighty Tour on October 16, and the Broadway tour of & Juliet plays October 20 through 25.
At Knitting Factory Boise, the month brings Ashley Cooke on October 16, almost monday on October 17, Catch Your Breath on October 25, and Rival Sons on October 30. Revolution Concert House in Garden City has Charles Wesley Godwin on October 17 and the Taste of Chaos tour on October 21 with Hollywood Undead, In This Moment, and I See Stars. Venue calendars fill in week by week, so check the venue nearest the area you are shopping.
What CBH has going on, and who is on your side
CBH's On the Block open-house program continues every Saturday from 1 to 4 PM at two Treasure Valley locations, with free food trucks and tours of furnished models; the weekly lineup is posted on cbhhomes.com/on-the-block/. Homefest, billed as Idaho's biggest homebuying event of the year, runs its final weekend through Sunday, October 11, with a 4.25% interest rate (7.05% APR) and free appliances on qualifying contracts, and the fall offer still stacks up to $30,000 'Your Way' plus appliances.
For the calendar ahead, CBH's Festival of Homes page says 'see you again in 2026,' and no 2026 dates are published yet. The most recent edition, the 10th annual, ran November 1 through December 13, 2025, at Aegean Estates, Centerville, Jack's Place, and Masterson Ranch, so watch the builder's site for the 2026 lineup.
None of that changes who is on your side. The builder's sales team runs those events, and they work for the builder. I am an independent buyer's agent and a Principal Broker (Oregon) / Associate Broker (Idaho) at MORE Realty; I represent buyers at every CBH community, and in most cases the builder pays my commission. I am not employed by or affiliated with CBH Homes. If you are coming out for an event, call me at (208) 369-7447 before your first model visit so you are registered as a represented buyer, and I will help you plan the weekend around tours of the communities on your list.
