The week-of-October-19 picture, current as of October 14

This is the week-of-October-19 edition of the Treasure Valley events roundup, refreshed as of October 14, 2026. Treat it as a snapshot, not a promise: farmers market seasons and festival dates shift every year, some events sell out or end early, and every detail below should be confirmed with the organizer or venue before you drive. Anything that already wrapped in September or the first weeks of October is noted as past rather than listed as upcoming.

The short version: CBH announced HomeFest, its holiday model-home event running November 6 through December 12, Meridian's 12th annual trunk-or-treat fills City Hall Plaza on Thursday, October 22, Boo at the Zoo and Eagle's Night of a Thousand Pumpkins anchor the October 24 weekend, and Halloween week is already mapped from Star and Middleton to Mountain Home and Jerome.

Already wrapped: events that have passed

The events that carried the week of October 12 are now behind us, so they are archived here rather than listed as upcoming. CBH opened Wagers Acres in Caldwell with its grand opening and ribbon cutting on Thursday, October 15, Viva Nampa filled Lloyd Square Park on Friday, October 16, the Mountain Home Highland Games ran October 17 and 18 at Carl Miller Park, and On the Block toured Linrock in Meridian on Saturday, October 17. Meridian's Main Street Market also held its final Saturday of the season on October 17.

Earlier in the season, Boise's City of Trees Marathon ran October 11, Eagle's Harvest Fest filled Heritage Park on October 10, and Caldwell's Dogtoberfest brought the Running of the Wieners to Indian Creek Plaza on October 9. Each of these returns on next year's calendar, and the week-of-October-12 roundup keeps the full record if you want the details.

Farmers markets: final Saturdays and the indoor season

Boise's two Saturday markets are still going. The Capital City Public Market at The Grove Plaza downtown runs Saturdays through December 19, and the Boise Farmers Market at 1500 Shoreline Drive holds its final outdoor Saturday on October 31 before moving indoors for a winter market at the Idaho Botanical Garden starting November 7.

The Nampa Farmers Market at Lloyd Square Park keeps its Saturday run going through November, which makes it the last outdoor market in the valley's new-home cities. Meridian's Main Street Market wrapped for the season on October 17, and Eagle's Saturday Market and Caldwell's Farm to Fork market have both closed for the year. Hours and final dates move every season, so confirm before you drive.

Festivals and community gatherings: October 19 through 25

Thursday, October 22 is Meridian's night: the 12th annual City of Meridian Trunk or Treat runs 6 to 9 PM at City Hall Plaza, with 90-plus decorated trunks handing out free candy and a suggested $1 per child donation to the Meridian Food Bank. The same week, Roaring Springs' Spooky Light Show drive-through continues nightly through October 30 from 7 to 9:30 PM.

Saturday, October 24 is the busiest day of the month. Boo at the Zoo at Zoo Boise runs October 24 and 25 with costumes, trick-or-treating, and games (hours vary by year, so check the Zoo Boise calendar), Eagle lights up its City Hall campus with the Night of a Thousand Pumpkins from 6 to 9 PM, and JUMP Boise hosts JUMP-or-Treat from 5 to 8 PM. In Nampa, the 208 Fright Night Halloween Festival is at the Ford Idaho Center at 5 PM and Trucks 'N Treat fills Lakeview Park at 2 PM, while Caldwell's The Haunted World and Requiem Haunted House open most evenings through the month.

Kuna's Farmers Alley Market runs its fall edition on Saturday, October 24 (the market's second and fourth Saturdays), and Lowe Family Farmstead keeps its pumpkin patch, corn maze, and harvest activities open through October 31. The Idaho Botanical Garden's Scarecrow Stroll continues through November 2.

Concerts and shows: October 19 through 25

At the Morrison Center in Boise, the Broadway tour of & Juliet plays Tuesday, October 20 at 7 PM, and Ballet Idaho presents Westward over the weekend of October 24 and 25. At Knitting Factory Boise, the week brings Zero 9:36 on October 20, Lydia B Kollins, Suzie Toot, and Kori King on October 22, KNOX and Emi Grace on October 23, The Taylor Party on October 24, and Catch Your Breath on October 25.

Revolution Concert House in Garden City has comedian Daniel Sloss on October 20, the Taste of Chaos tour on October 21 with Hollywood Undead, In This Moment, and I See Stars, and Skillet on October 26. The Ford Idaho Center has no concerts in this window; its next big draw is the Idaho Reined Cow Horse Association show from October 29 through November 8. Venue calendars fill in week by week, so check the venue nearest the area you are shopping.

Halloween week ahead: October 26 through 31

Star's Trunk or Treat at the Riverhouse runs Halloween afternoon, Saturday, October 31, from 3 to 5 PM at Riverhouse Pasture on South Main Street, with decorated trunks, a costume contest, bounce houses, and food trucks. Middleton's downtown Spooky Stroll brings daytime trick-or-treating to 30-plus businesses on Friday, October 30, with pumpkin decorating and a costume parade at Stone Horse Green, and citywide trick-or-treat hours run 5 to 8 PM on Halloween itself.

Mountain Home's annual Spooktacular, a Day of the Dead-themed family night of costumes, candy, and contests, fills the Hub Plaza downtown on Friday, October 30 at 6 PM, and Jerome's community trunk-or-treat runs Saturday, October 31 at 5 PM. In Boise, Harrison Boulevard in the North End closes to traffic on Halloween night for one of the valley's biggest street trick-or-treat scenes, and the Old Idaho Penitentiary hosts an all-ages Fright Night on October 30.

New Plymouth and Horseshoe Bend had no published Halloween events as of this roundup's research date; both towns typically announce trunk-or-treats and festival dates only a few weeks ahead, so check the city and chamber calendars as the date nears.

What CBH has going on, and who is on your side

CBH's On the Block open-house program continues every Saturday from 1 to 4 PM with free food trucks and tours of furnished models at two rotating communities; the weekly lineup is posted on cbhhomes.com/on-the-block/. A current featured model is the Tamarack 3695 at Peregrine Estates in Nampa, and the October Life Upgrade offer (a 4.25% year-one rate with a free Whirlpool appliance package) still applies to contracts dated between October 1 and 31.

The big new date on the builder's calendar is HomeFest, announced October 13: billed as Idaho's biggest homebuying event of the year, it runs November 6 through December 12 with 15 furnished, holiday-decorated model homes across four Treasure Valley communities, free holiday photo sessions (reservable on the builder's website), live entertainment, food trucks, and giveaways. It is the evolution of the Festival of Homes tradition, and it is a great low-pressure way to tour floor plans before the holidays.

None of that changes who is on your side. The builder's sales team runs those events, and they work for the builder. I am an independent buyer's agent and a Principal Broker (Oregon) / Associate Broker (Idaho) at MORE Realty; I represent buyers at every CBH community, and in most cases the builder pays my commission. I am not employed by or affiliated with CBH Homes. If you are coming out for an event, call me at (208) 369-7447 before your first model visit so you are registered as a represented buyer, and I will help you plan the weekend around tours of the communities on your list.
